This Symposium will cover the topical themes of tribology, including: friction, wear, lubrication, lubricants, superlubricity, biotribology, biomimetics, tribomaterials, solid lubricants, surface engineering, tribotesting, tribological design and optimisation of machine components, modelling in tribology, contact mechanics, micro/nanotribology, tribotronics, triboinformatics, tribology in power generating systems, metal working tribology, tribology in rail and road transport, and tribology in medicine.

Moreover, particular attention will be devoted to Green Tribology, defined as the science and technology of the tribological aspects of ecological balance and environmental and biological impacts, which represents a modern and interesting direction in scientific research, aimed to explore the role of tribological investigation regarding saving energy and, in general, the ecological environment and sustainability.
